# 10–Yorkshire Terrier
Definitely one of the smaller breeds of the small dog group, the Yorkshire Terrier usually tops out at only about 6 pounds. Attractive with their distinctive blue/gray and ochre coat, these little guys are very intelligent and enjoy learning new tricks. Lively and agile, Yorkies are better in families where the children are older, not only because they have relatively fragile bones, but also because they may tend to be a bit impatient with clumsy younger children. While they do fine in an apartment, they will definitely need quite a bit of exercise every day; these are actually tiny working dogs that were originally bred to be determined hunters of vermin.
